Preston’s career has been dedicated to public service and he is a coalition builder with over a decade of experience at the intersection of government, labor, advocacy, and public affairs. Preston has built lasting relationships and partnerships across public, nonprofit, and private sectors. He has led legislative, budgetary, and policy initiatives, including the passage of over 100 pieces of legislation spanning housing, education, transit, climate, AI, and economic development.

Preston also has a background that spans campaign management, education access, and strategic communications. He has worked across sectors, ranging from advising students and families on college access to building media strategies and leading citywide coalitions, while shaping coverage in hundreds of media stories.
