Oakland's Mobile Assistance Community Responders of Oakland (MACRO) program will receive $1 million in state funding, reflecting Mayor Barbara Lee's ongoing efforts to prioritize and invest in comprehensive public safety initiatives that meet the diverse needs of Oakland residents.

After more than two decades of closure, East Oakland's Tyrone Carney Park is set for a long-awaited revival. City leaders and residents gathered this week to break ground on a $3.5 million renovation — a project driven by Mayor Barbara Lee's commitment to restore public spaces, improve neighborhoods, and deliver visible progress across Oakland.

Oakland has been awarded a $30 million grant by the Regional Measure 3 (RM3) funding program from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for construction of the Martin Luther King Jr. Way Streetscape Improvements project.

Mayor Barbara Lee today announced the launch of Oakland’s first-ever electric bike (e-bike) lending program, a city-led initiative designed to expand clean, affordable, and reliable transportation options for working families and residents across Oakland.

The City of Oakland and Memar Properties, Inc. (MPI) have been awarded $32,975,000 in Homekey+ funds for Mark Twain Homes. This award is the City of Oakland’s eleventh Homekey award and will support the combined rehabilitation and new construction of 109 housing units to serve individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

In a show of regional solidarity, the San Francisco
Foundation, in partnership with Elected Leaders of San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, and a broad coalition of community leaders, today announced the launch of the Stand Together Bay Area Fund. This new fund aims to raise $10 million to provide urgent financial assistance to immigrant families across the Bay Area who are facing unprecedented hardship due to aggressive federal immigration enforcement.
