Director of Community Engagement

LaNiece Jones is a seasoned public affairs strategist, civic engagement leader, and nonprofit executive with over two decades of experience advancing equity and justice in California. She leads engagement efforts for the Office of Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee and serves as the State President-Elect of Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA), where she also directs the Training Institute for Leadership Enrichment (TILE), a leadership pipeline initiative for Black women across California. She previously served as Chief Consultant to the Chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus and as Executive Director of the Peralta Colleges Foundation, championing student equity and expanding donor investment. LaNiece serves as Board Treasurer for the California Black Women’s Collective Empowerment Institute. She holds a Master’s in Social Entrepreneurship and Change from Pepperdine University and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., serving as the Far Western Regional Connection Northern California Chair.
