Brittany Garza is an Oakland native and proud alumna of the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). She grew up in City Hall, surrounded by civic leadership and public service, which helped shape her lifelong passion for community engagement and local government.

Brittany has been deeply involved in political campaigns, community outreach, and special events that celebrate the culture and resilience of Oakland. She began her public service journey as a Special Assistant in Oakland’s District 5, working closely with the residents and businesses of the very neighborhoods she calls home. She later served as the Executive Assistant in the Office of the Mayor, supporting the daily operations of the mayor’s office with dedication and professionalism.

Brittany now serves as the Administrative and Operations Coordinator for Mayor Barbara Lee, where she continues her commitment to serving the people of Oakland. With a passion for community empowerment and civic engagement, Brittany is dedicated to making a lasting impact across all corners of her hometown
