Mayor Barbara Lee on the Passing of Congressman Doug LaMalfa

"I'm saddened by the passing of Congressman Doug LaMalfa. My condolences go out to his wife Jill, his children, and his loved ones.

Doug and I served together in the California congressional delegation for over a decade. We worked together on bipartisan efforts to protect landline services for residents in wildfire and disaster-prone areas and partnered on tribal health priorities. Doug was a fourth-generation rice farmer who never forgot where he came from.

His dedication to Northern California's rural communities was undeniable. California lost a dedicated public servant."
