Oakland implements comprehensive public safety plan

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) will deploy extensive resources throughout the city this weekend to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and local businesses during Super Bowl LX events.

At the BAHC Live! Oakland Fan Zone and Official NFL Watch Party on Sunday, OPD will establish a Mobile Command Post at the Henry J. Kaiser Center with officers stationed throughout the venue, coordinating closely with the Oakland Fire Department and city partners.

Additional officers will be deployed around Lake Merritt focused on robbery prevention and enforcement related to illegal ATV and dirt bike activity. OPD's Special Operations Division - including the ARGUS helicopter, SWAT, traffic enforcement, and undercover officers - will be positioned throughout the city with the ability to respond anywhere as needed.

OPD does not cooperate with civil immigration enforcement and does not inquire about immigration status. All community members are encouraged to enjoy Super Bowl festivities safely and to report any public safety concerns to OPD.
